Nov. 16, 2015, (Arlington, Va.) – The American Composites Manufacturers Association’s (ACMA) CompositesLab website – the first and only comprehensive online guide to composites and the composites industry – has won two Platinum MarCom Awards from the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. ACMA won in the Association Website and Informational Website categories.
The MarCom Awards is an international creative competition that recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communication professionals. The competition has grown to perhaps the largest of its kind in the world. Entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers. Winners range from individuals to large media conglomerates and Fortune 500 companies. This year, the competition received roughly 6,500 entries from North America and more than a dozen other countries. Only five websites won in the Informational Website category, including entries from IBM and Johns Hopkins University.
Judges are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talents exceed a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry. This year the competition received about 6,500 entries from throughout the United States, Canada and more than a dozen other countries.
“As the voice of the composites industry, our goal is to educate others about composites and their many benefits and uses,” said ACMA president Tom Dobbins. “CompositesLab has filled a critical void by serving as the first central online resources dedicated to composites.”
In addition to the benefits and uses of composites, users can learn the basics behind the science of composites, an overview of the composites industry and read case studies on how composites have been applied to various market segments.
