ACMA Members,
Applications are now pouring in for the second round of Paycheck Protection Program forgivable loans. Don’t delay if you’re planning to apply. FiscalNote, ACMA’s partner for issue management, has developed a highly useful set of frequently asked questions for this round of funding. Check it out.
As some states are looking toward easing stay-at-home restrictions in the coming months, it’s important to have a well-considered strategy for reopening aspects of your business that have been shuttered. I recommend reviewing this guide of important factors to bear in mind as you make plans for your company in the short run. EPA and CDC have also released new guidance on cleaning and disinfecting workplaces today.
The political and policy situation continues to evolve. This morning I spoke with noted political strategist Karl Rove on changing dynamics in the fall elections. He predicts Republican pickups in the House and Democratic pickups in the Senate, but whether those gains will be enough to flip either chamber remains to be seen. Undoubtedly, the Presidential election is hugely in the air as Trump defends attacks on his handling of COVID and broader management of the country, while Biden struggles to hold together an unwieldy coalition of progressives, minorities, and disenchanted middle-class suburbanites. As we move deeper into election season, I’ll keep you updated with insights as I learn them.
Finally, as Congress considers additional response legislation, as well as makes plans to address other key priorities this year, ACMA members need to stay informed and stay engaged. We’re excited to bring you another great installment in our webinar series next week – a Town Hall with Congresswoman Jackie Walorski. She is one of the biggest champions for composites in Washington and has been highly instrumental in the development of the Congressional response. Full details are below – I hope you’ll join us!
My very best,
MJ Carrabba
