The ACMA Board of Directors has announced the following members for positions on the board. All petitions must be received by April 3 and be signed by at least 10 voting representatives.

Megan Multanen
CEO

Bestbath

Megan Multanen, MPA, is an owner and CEO of Bestbath. She is an Idaho native and a graduate of Boise State University where she earned a degree in Sociology and Economics. Post Boise State, Megan attended the University of Arizona where she earned her Masters of Public Administration. Megan pursued her Certified Aging in Place Specialist designation through the National Association of Home Builders in 2010. In 2010, Megan returned to Idaho to work for Bestbath and has worked in the Marketing Department, Commercial Sales department and Dealer Sales department.

Jane Thomas

Teijin Holdings, USA

Jane Thomas has worked for Teijin, a Japanese global enterprise, since 2011, initially as an executive and CEO of a health care company and currently as its Chief Representative in the Americas and President of Teijin Holdings USA. Teijin’s operations in the US include Continental Structural Plastics, Renegade Materials, and Teijin Carbon America and Teijin Carbon Fiber. Jane is an attorney by trade, and is currently a member of the National Council of Textile Organization, Women in Manufacturing, Women in the Composites Industry and the Investment Advisory Committee for the Department of Commerce.

MIKE GROMACKI

McCLARIN Composites

Michael (Mike) Gromacki has over 30 years of experience in the chemicals and advanced materials industry, with over 25 years in composites. He is a Chemical Engineering graduate of the University of Wisconsin. Mike joined the epoxy curative and reactive diluent manufacturer Dixie Chemical in 2009 as Vice President of Operations, later assuming full business leadership as Senior Vice President and then as President. In February 2020, he joined Olin Corporation as the Global Director of Wind and Composites Systems, where he led global strategic plans, partnerships, contract restructuring, technology licensing, and business development, contributing to significant business improvement within Olin Epoxy. In February 2022, he was appointed the President and Chief Executive Officer of McCLARIN Composites, a Tier 1 composites and high-performance molded plastics supplier to market leaders in Mobility and the Built Environment.

Jacob Axel has served as the President of AXEL Plastics, a mold release and additive manufacturer based in Monroe, Connecticut, for 21 years. Jacob earned his undergraduate degree from Brandeis University and his MBA from Columbia Business School. He has previously served on both the ACMA Board and the Executive Board for 5 years. He lives with his wife, Ilyssa, and their three children in Westport, Connecticut.

Scott Balogh, a Cleveland native, joined Mar-Bal Incorporated in 1992. During Balogh’s career, Mar-Bal has grown its annual sales by over 65 million. Balogh serves on the boards of the American Composite Manufacturers Association (ACMA), the Ohio Manufacturers Association (OMA) and Geauga University Hospital. He has been a member of the World Presidents Organization (WPO), Cleveland Chapter since 2004. Balogh attended Capital University in Columbus, Ohio and graduated in 1984 with a B.A. in Business Administration and Economics. He and his wife, Stacy Banks reside in Cleveland, OH. They have three children, Maia, Madeleine and Micah.

Ashley Industrial Molding, Inc.

Scott Pflughoeft is President and CEO of Ashley Industrial Molding, Inc. He earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and an MBA from The Anderson School at UCLA. For the past 25 years he has managed and led companies with domestic and international operations producing metal and plastic products in numerous markets and countries. He serves on local hospital and relief-agency non-profit boards, has traveled for international aid trips, and is Director of Multiplication for County Line Church of God in Auburn, IN. Leveraging that diverse experience he participates in the start-up of for-profit and non-profit organizations and endeavors to continue learning, growing, and helping others succeed.

Shane has been with Creative Pultrusions, Inc since 1989 when he started as a Regional Sales Manager. Gaining vast experience throughout the company in sales, marketing and operations management, Shane was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2008 and has been instrumental in the growth and shaping of the US Composite Group under Hill & Smith Holdings PLC which consist of the following Group Companies Creative Pultrusions, ET Techtonics, Kenway Composites, Tower Tech and Composite Advantage. He has also served as a General Partner and co-founder of Composite Cooling Solutions, LP since 2004 and also served in the past as President of the Pultrusion Industry Council under the ACMA. Shane has testified several times on behalf of the ACMA in front of Congressional Subcommittees and holds several patents associated with composite systems.

LUCY HOUCIN

Lucy joined IDI Composites International (IDI) in 2016, 50 years after the company was founded by her grandfather. She has held multiple roles in the company. Currently, she is the General Manager of Norplex Advanced Composites, a new business which expands Norplex’ capabilities and commitment to advanced materials. Lucy also serves as Director of Corporate Marketing for IDI and Norplex where she manages global branding and marketing strategies. In both roles, her work is grounded in uncompromising values and aimed at delivering meaningful results. Before she joined IDI, Lucy worked as a management consultant supporting industry associations, educational institutions, and government entities on public policy and community development. She has a Master of Business Administration degree from Purdue University and a bachelor’s degree from Butler University.

TONY MARTIN

North American Composites

Tony Martin has over 30 years of executive experience with structural and elastic adhesives; both in the U.S and international markets. Before joining North American Composites, Tony served as the global strategic marketing Manager for the commercial vehicle and mass transit markets. Previously, he held various leadership roles in sales and marketing across the Casco Nobel, Sika and L&L Products organizations. He has led business development in the general composites, wind energy and transportation arenas. Currently, Tony serves as President of North American Composites in Lino Lakes, Minnesota. He is an innovative business leader excelling in change management and team building.
