Public Comment Open for Product Category Rule on Utility Poles

Sustainable Minds has issued a Public Comment notice for a multi-material Product Category Rule (PCR) concerning electrical utility poles. This collaborative effort involves stakeholders from FRP, wood, steel, and concrete, aiming to create Environmental Product Declaration documents. We invite you to review the PCR here. The deadline for Public Comment is December 2, 2023.

As part of ACMA’s Climate Impacts Project, ACMA staff and members have been hard at work developing this PCR in partnership with Sustainable Minds. The goal is to streamline Environmental Product Declaration creation, aiding engineers in selecting products for upcoming projects. This initiative is just one of many coordinated by ACMA to meet the growing demand for composite product manufacturers to complete Environmental Production Declarations, with ongoing projects like the development of a PCR for FRP rebar.
