Workforce Development Survey Closes with 330+ Responses
Earlier this fall, ACMA partnered with Rockbridge Associates to conduct a survey among those in the composites industry, including workers and students. The goal of the study was to explore key issues companies face when recruiting skilled personnel, the relationship between these issues and employment outcomes, and the effectiveness and value of the CCT programs offered by ACMA. More than 330 respondents contributed to the survey and have provided ACMA and Rockbridge with a wealth of information about the industry. Over the coming months, ACMA will be working to provide recommendations, suggestions, and next steps. In the meantime, ACMA and Rockbridge Associates provide members with the following brief takeaway:
A majority of respondents cite labor shortages at their company and nearly half cite difficulty hiring technicians, with compensation being the strongest driver of the labor shortage. Improving compensation and benefits is the leading strategy companies are using to alleviate their labor shortages, with upgrading their training and onboarding experience also being commonly cited. Current CCT enrollees hold the program in high regard across all programs and are very likely to enroll in additional CCT courses in the future, citing the importance of CCT in helping them expand their knowledge and stay competitive in the workforce.
