Avient Advanced Composites
Mike Mosley is the General Manager of Avient’s Advanced Composites business, overseeing Glasforms (Birmingham, AL), Polystrand (Englewood, CO), and Gordon Composites (Montrose, CO). Since joining Avient in 2018 as GM of Glasforms and stepping into his current role in 2019, Mike has led his teams to record profitability, earning GM of the Year honors in 2019 and 2022. He also leads Avient’s Outdoor High Performance (OHP) team, focusing on cross-selling opportunities, and represents Avient at the Congressional Sportsman Foundation, advocating for conservation and recreational land access. Mike is active in Avient’s Global Manufacturing Council and Mentoring Program and is a 2019 NextGen graduate. His career began as an officer and aviator in the U.S. Marine Corps, followed by roles in applied chemistry and commercial leadership at NALCO Chemical. In 2004, Mike led a private equity group, revitalizing companies in composites and engineered lumber. He holds degrees in Physical Science and Economics from the University of South Alabama. A proud family man, Mike lives in Mobile, Alabama, with his wife Sharon of 30 years and their three children. He also serves on the board of The Reese’s Senior Bowl, a college football all-star game affiliated with the NFL.

Montana Advanced Composites
Lucy Houchin is the General Manager of Montana Advanced Composites (MAC), an IDI company which develops and manufactures advanced hot-melt prepregs and ancillary composite materials. Lucy joined the composites industry in 2016 and has held multiple positions with MAC’s sister organization, IDI Composites International (IDI). In all roles, her work is grounded in uncompromising values and aimed at delivering meaningful results. Before she joined IDI, Lucy worked as a management consultant supporting industry associations, educational institutions, and government entities on public policy and community development. She has a Master of Business Administration degree from Purdue University and a bachelor’s degree from Butler University.

Eric L. Palomaki joined the company on September 19, 2018, and was appointed to the position of Vice President of Operations. Mr. Palomaki was promoted to Executive Vice President of Operations, Research and Development in November, 2020 and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in March, 2024. Prior to joining CORE, Mr. Palomaki was the Vice President of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering from 2013 to 2017 at Acuity Brands Lighting, a commercial lighting company with 12,000 employees generating $3.5 billion annually. Prior to Acuity Brands, Mr. Palomaki served in multiple roles in the automotive industry for North American Lighting in 2012 and 2013, and TRW Automotive from 2007 to 2012. Mr. Palomaki holds a Master of Business Administration from Jack Welch Management Institute, and a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

INEOS Corporation
Based in Dublin, Ohio, Andrew Beer is Senior Vice President for the Americas Composites business at INEOS Composites, overseeing P&L responsibilities, commercial, technical, procurement, and finance teams, with matrix accountability for manufacturing sites in North America and Brazil. After starting his career in a lab, Andrew transitioned to the composites industry, selling resins and gelcoats for a Vancouver-based supplier later acquired by Ashland. He moved to Columbus, Ohio, in 2002, advancing through roles in sales management and global market leadership. In 2010, he relocated to São Paulo, Brazil, to integrate a joint venture into Ashland before returning to Ohio in 2012 to lead the North American composites business. Following Ashland’s 2019 sale to INEOS, Andrew expanded his role to include South America. He holds a Chemistry degree from The British Columbia Institute of Technology and an Executive Development certificate from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. A former ACMA board member (2016–2018), Andrew is honored to rejoin the board and contribute to the composites industry.

Shelly Bennion is the General Manager at Hawkeye Industries, a manufacturing sales and marketing company focused on global distribution of composite process consumables. With 15 years of experience in the composites industry, Shelly has driven market growth and operational improvements at Hawkeye, focusing on enhancing both customer and employee experiences. She serves as the Marketing and Communications Committee Chair for the American Composites Manufacturing Association and is actively involved in both the Women in Manufacturing and Women in the Composite Industry organizations. Shelly’s leadership centers on eliminating barriers to innovation and fostering an empowering work environment, while also advocating for workforce growth and opportunities for women in the composites industry.

Dave Smith, Chief Commercial Officer at Composites One, brings over 17 years of leadership and strategic marketing and sales expertise. A graduate of Michigan State University with a B.B.A., Dave began his career at Paychex before joining GLS Thermoplastics in 2003, where he advanced to International Corporate Accounts Manager. He entered the composites industry in 2008 as Wind Energy Market Manager at Composites One and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming Sales Manager in 2012, Director of Marketing in 2014, and Vice President of Marketing in 2017. Dave’s strategic vision and results-driven leadership have consistently driven growth and innovation. He has completed executive education at the University of Chicago and Ohio State University. Dedicated to community service, Dave serves on the Board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of McHenry County and engages in philanthropic initiatives, demonstrating his commitment to social responsibility.
