Virtual Composites Technology Days Spark Collaboration in the Defense Section

On August 25-26, 2021, the American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA) held its first virtual Composites Technology Day program with Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC). The program gathered over 200 NGC engineers, designers, and decision-makers interested in learning about the latest high-performance composites technologies in the defense sector. ACMA members led 16 highly-curated technical presentations on a range of topics — from large-scale additive manufacturing to resin modifiers and advancements in carbon fiber reinforcement fabrics. The technical presentations were well-regarded by attendees from Northrop Grumman.

One Sr. Engineer from NGC commented, “I really liked the Virtual Composites Technology Day because we are able to attend virtually. Most of the time, we don’t have the time or funding to travel to attend a conference. This way people can still participate in the discussion and attend presentations. I hope that this will continue in the future even after the pandemic.”

In addition to an excellent education program, the virtual event offered networking and technical presentations promoting solutions between ACMA members and key decision makers from NGC. The virtual event platform will remain live through August 2022, facilitating communication and private meetings between members and NGC staff.

Thank you to all companies who participated in the program:

Composites Technology Days Connect ACMA Members with OEMs

ACMA’s Composites Technology Day program positions our members to directly engage with some of the world’s largest companies, including their key frontline staff, to share and offer solutions to their business and engineering challenges, company needs, and design and technical requirements. For members who have previously been involved with Composites Technology Day events, the opportunity to collaborate with various engineers and key staff provided a worthwhile experience.
