April 30, 2019 (Arlington, VA) – The American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA) is pleased to announce that the month of May is Certified Composites Technician (CCT) Month. Additionally, ACMA celebrates the twenty year anniversary of the CCT program, the only certification program of its kind in the composites industry. The certification program provides modern industry certifications and objectively measured standards to over 900 certified industry professionals.

Created by ACMA in 1999 as a response to the industry’s clear need for uniform training and technical skills, the CCT program provides consistent core knowledge in nine industry specialties and two languages, and is designed to elevate industry standards, enhance production performance, upgrade individual levels of knowledge, recognize professional expertise and advance composites manufacturing processes. The CCT program offers various program-specific certifications, covering a wide range of processes and products within the composites industry, including advanced composites, compression molding, corrosion, light resin transfer molding, open molding, vacuum infusion, and wind blade repair.

“As the composites industry grows, the CCT program is an essential resource; meeting the evolving and increasing demands of the emerging composites industry. Over the last two years, we have seen increasing industry engagement as we continue to expand and develop the CCT program with new and updated resources, designations and publications. We are excited to celebrate the success of the program for the last 20 years and the anticipated future growth in the program.” said ACMA President Tom Dobbins.

Additionally, during the last year, the CCT has expanded its resources with updated Cast Polymer and Vacuum Infusion study guides, training support material, new webinars, and the new CCT Instructor Course.
