ACMA’s LCA+EPD generator program, set to launch in December 2024, will assist composite manufacturers in preparing reliable and cost-effective Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for their products and materials. By leveraging this tool, composite manufacturers will not only streamline the EPD preparation process but also gain valuable insights into the climate impacts of their products and processes through life cycle assessment (LCA).

How The Program Works

If you’re interested in having an LCA and EPD prepared for your composite product, here are the steps:

Fill out the interest form below

Once submitted, ACMA’s Sustainability Project Manager, Hannah Henry, will reach out to discuss the process and requirements specific to your manufacturing facility and product.

Participate in a kick-off call with our team of consultants

We’ll discuss the scope of your project, walk you through the SmartEPD web platform, and based on the complexity of your product and data requirements, you’ll receive a quote for your EPD.

Accept the quote

You will receive a contract and non-disclosure agreement (NDA) with ACMA and consultants to review and sign.

Create a project and draft EPD

Once you’ve accepted the quote and submitted payment, you will create a project and draft EPD on the SmartEPD web platform where you’ll work through the EPD template.

Collect and submit your product and facility data

This includes production and utility data, bills of materials, and other relevant operational data. While gathering this data may seem extensive, it’s crucial for conducting a comprehensive LCA and ensuring the accuracy of your EPD.

Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in calls with Trinity Consultants to receive guidance through the data collection process and provide further insights into your product and operations. These sessions will ensure transparency between all stakeholders involved in the EPD preparation process.

Submit the draft EPD for verification

Your compiled data will be submitted to a pre-verified LCA calculator and the results will be fed into the draft EPD template that is then submitted to SmartEPD for verification.

Publish your EPD

After the EPD is verified by SmartEPD, you will have the option to have it published and made publicly available on the SmartEPD platform.

LCA+EPD Base Pricing

For ACMA Members: $10,000

For Non-Members: $15,000

Note: Pricing is subject to change based on individual project requirements and industry standards.

Additional Considerations:
The base pricing serves as a starting point for manufacturers interested in utilizing our LCA+EPD Generator Program. However, it’s important to note that pricing may vary based on the specific product or process of the manufacturer. Factors that may influence pricing adjustments include:

  • Complexity of the Product or Process: If the manufacturer’s product or process is particularly complex or involves unique materials or methods, additional pricing adjustments may apply.
  • Unique Requirements: Manufacturers with specific requirements or additional services may incur additional costs. These could include data verification or supplementary analyses.

Quoting Process:
Trinity Consultants will review the information provided by a composite manufacturer to assess the project’s scope and requirements. Based on this evaluation, we will generate a detailed quote tailored to the manufacturer’s specific needs and circumstances.
