Two industry thought leaders in composites manufacturing push for the advancement of composites worldwide through strategic partnership, global standards, and innovative technology at its first-ever Global Composites Conference in Las Vegas.

May 17, 2018 (Arlington, Va.) – This week, American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA) and NetComposites announced the detailed conference program for the Global Composites Conference. The new international composites industry conference is designed for corporate and division leaders in the industry with a focus on global business, trends, and insights for the global composites market. The conference will take place at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, NV, US on June 27 – 28, 2018.

Expanding beyond a domestic perspective, the Global Composites conference program, which is available now at https://globalcompositesconference.com/program/, provides fresh insights into the global business environment, such as opportunities for business development, challenges, trends, and customs.

“Our industry is facing the reality of global competition. Composites manufacturing business leaders must expand their perspective seeing beyond the domestic and building partnerships that promote growth, efficiency, and profits. This conference prepares our industry’s leaders for the challenges facing our North American businesses, as well as best practices to conduct business in various markets while adapting to their unique customs, norms and business practices,” said Tom Dobbins, ACMA President.

In addition to the conference program, attendees can “speak with companies that are already going global and learn what real-world challenges they face and what pitfalls businesses should watch. This is a prime opportunity to expand your professional network and learn from experts and leaders that are thriving in a competitive global marketplace,” said Joe Carruthers, NetComposites’ Managing Director.

The conference will kick off on June 27 with keynote speaker Hamid Kia from General Motors, as well as speakers from other customer groups. The keynote topic, “Standardizing the Global Supply Chain – Automotive and Aerospace Viewpoints,” will take an in-depth look at the material selection process, and what GM looks for from its supply chain partners, including standardization, manufacturing capabilities, and sustainability.

Day one continues with an interesting session that details best practices and insights to build a strong, effective international strategic partnership. The session will give a step-by-step guide to build teams, leverage intelligence, and align your partners to create a global network that establishes a competitive advantage for composites manufacturing businesses.

Day two of the conference begins with a comprehensive session on international markets and technology trends to watch, including autonomous vehicles, smart materials and the global nanocomposite and graphene market. This session includes insights on technology trends from GE Global Research Wind Blade Technology Leader, Shridhar Nath. Additional sessions will explore the various global standards and why it is important that the industry move to some common standards in key market segments. The conference wraps up with dynamic sessions on changing perceptions of composites in the global marketplace and increasing adoption of composite materials in all areas.

Throughout the conference, attendees will have numerous networking opportunities, including receptions and exhibitor breaks, so that they can engage and share with leading companies and consultants with solutions and products for the global composites industry.
