April 25, 2018 (Arlington, VA) – The American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA) is excited to announce that the month of May is Certified Composites Technician (CCT) Month. All month long, ACMA celebrates the CCT program, the only certification program of its kind in the composites industry. The certification program provides benefits and contributions to over 1,000 industry professionals, technicians, companies, institutions, and the industry-at-large.
Created by ACMA in 1999 as a response to the industry’s clear need for uniform training and technical skills, the CCT program provides consistent core knowledge for all current and aspiring members of the composites industry. The program is designed to elevate industry standards, enhance production performance, upgrade individual levels of knowledge and skill, and recognize professional expertise.
The CCT program offers various program-specific certifications, covering a wide range of processes and products within the composites industry, including cast polymer, compression molding, corrosion, light resin transfer molding, open molding, vacuum infusion, and wind blade repair. Additionally during the last year, the CCT has expanded it’s resources with updated Wind Blade Repair and Basic Composites study guides, new webinars, and the new Advanced Composites CCT.
“As the composites industry grows, the CCT program is an essential resource; meeting the evolving and increasing demands of the emerging composites industry. Over the last several months, we have seen an increased interest and engagement as we continue to expand and develop the CCT program with new and updated resources as well as new designations like the Advanced Composites CCT. We are excited to celebrate our current success and future growth in the program.” said ACMA President Tom Dobbins.
