Practical Manufacturing Quality Improvement for Vacuum Infusion, Open Molding and Light Resin Transfer Molding

Dec 18, 2018 | Webinar
ACMA Hosting
Composites manufacturers in both open and closed molding processes have many opportunities to prevent part repair, refinishing and waste through implementation of manufacturing process quality control. This webinar will outline some of the practical production method improvements, operator quality controls and process documentation that can be implemented in large and small facilities. These techniques will save money and increase production by lowering levels of waste and rework that limit production efficiency. This webinar will be held on Tuesday, December 18 at 1 pm ET, and will feature Andrew Pokelwaldt, ACMA, Director of Certifications.

Cost-Effective Strengthening of Structural Joints and Systems through Polymer Composites

Jan 10, 2019 | Webinar
ACMA Hosting
The Achilles heel in any structural system performance is its joint, especially under hurricanes, earthquakes and blast loads. This webinar highlights the role of multifunctional fiber reinforced polymer composites in reinforcing structural joints and systems to resist extreme forces by providing energy absorbing, and fire resistant capabilities in a cost-effective manner. The outcomes of this course will allow the structural engineers and designers to identify ways to minimize stress-concentrations at reentrant corners, thus enhancing the structural capacities and reduce catastrophic failures in the field. This approach will also save maintenance costs. This webinar will be held on Thursday, January 10 at 1 pm ET, and will feature Prof. Hota V.S. GangaRao, Ph.D. & Praveen K.R. Majjigapu, of West Virginia University's Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources.
