Building a strong foundation in the composites industry is a shared effort that depends on early exposure, mentorship, and active engagement from both employers and emerging professionals.

When organizations intentionally introduce new talent to the broader industry beyond their day-to-day roles, they help accelerate professional growth and long-term retention. Supporting participation in industry programs, encouraging attendance at conferences and Fly-Ins, and creating opportunities for mentorship and cross-functional learning allows emerging professionals to see how their work connects to the larger industry ecosystem.

At the same time, early-career professionals benefit most when they actively seek out opportunities to learn and connect. Joining industry associations, participating in training programs, attending events like CAMX, and engaging in advocacy or committee work can quickly build both technical understanding and professional confidence. Seeking mentors, asking questions, and gaining exposure to different segments of the composites supply chain helps create a well-rounded industry perspective.

Programs like ACMA’s Emerging Leaders Program offer a structured pathway for professionals ready to deepen their involvement, expand their networks, and begin shaping the future of the composites industry.

As ACMA continues to invest in the next generation of composites professionals, the 2026 Emerging Leaders Program reflects a long-term commitment to cultivating leaders who will help guide the industry forward.

Building Tomorrow’s Leaders for the Composites Industry

Developing strong, capable leaders is essential to the long-term success of the composites industry. That’s why the American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA) is proud to continue its commitment to leadership development with the launch of the 2026 Emerging Leaders Program (ELP), the second cohort of this impactful initiative.

Building on the success of the inaugural class, the 2026 Emerging Leaders Program is already underway, bringing together 21 high-potential composites professionals from across the industry for a year of targeted leadership development, peer connection, and real-world advocacy experience. The program is generously sponsored by Champion Fiberglass, Composites One, and Norplex-Micarta, whose support helps make this investment in the industry’s future possible.

A Program Designed to Develop Leaders Who Make an Impact

ACMA’s ELP is a year-long program designed to equip emerging professionals with the skills, confidence, and industry insight needed to lead at higher levels. Through a blend of virtual learning, in-person engagement, and experiential opportunities, participants gain exposure to the broader composites landscape while sharpening essential leadership and communication skills.

A cornerstone of the program is its emphasis on advocacy and industry engagement. The first in-person event for the 2026 cohort will take place at the ACMA Composites Fly-In, June 9–11 in Washington, DC, where participants will engage directly with policymakers, advocate for the composites industry, and better understand how industry voices influence legislative and regulatory outcomes.
