U.S. Door Makers File AD/CVD Case on Chinese Imports

On March 21, U.S. manufacturers of composite doors filed an anti-dumping and countervailing duty case against imports from China. Targeting imports from four specific tariff lines, the action covers fiberglass door panels, including fiberglass sidelites, finished or unfinished and assembled or unassembled.

The petition filed by the American Fiberglass Door Coalition defines the scope in part as “fiberglass door panels, which includes fiberglass sidelites, designed for permanent installation in a building. Fiberglass door panels are primarily used as exterior or entry doors in residential (e.g., single-family and multifamily) and mixed-use buildings, but may be used in non-residential applications such as barns, sheds, and storage buildings.”

The press release for the filing can be found here.  Commerce will determine whether to initiate the investigations within 20 days of filing, and the USITC will reach a preliminary determination of material injury or threat of material injury within 45 days. The entire investigative process will take approximately one year, with final determinations of dumping, subsidization, and injury likely occurring in early 2026. However, duties can be attached to imports of the subject fiberglass door panels at the time of the preliminary determinations in the case, or even earlier.

The scope includes imports under HTS categories 3925.20.0010 but may also be classified under 4418.29.4000, 4418.29.8030, or 7019.90.5150.
