Cindy L. Squires, President & CEO, ACMA
Cindy L. Squires, President & CEO of the American Composites Manufacturing Association since 2021. ACMA’s vision is to make composites the sustainable material of preference.
Ms. Squires is a cleared trade advisor to the U.S. Trade Representative and serves on the board of the American Boat and Yacht Council and the Council of Manufacturing Associations. Previously, Ms. Squires was CEO of the International Wood Products Association.
Prior to IWPA, Ms. Squires directed the regulatory, legal and trade programs for the recreational boating industry as the Chief Counsel of the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA). Her previous positions included practicing environmental law, working as a legislative aide in a U.S. Senate Committee, and a federal agency.
Daniel Neumann, Vice President of Government Relations, ACMA
Responsible for ACMA’s work with policymakers in Congress and the Administration. Leads ACMA efforts to grow the composites market and make manufacturing in the United States more competitive. Dan has worked on behalf of our industry on federal funding of composites and worked to include composites language in major legislation. Dan is available to help members bring specific concerns to their representatives through meetings, public engagement, and tours.
With over 20 years’ experience in Washington, Dan has worked as a congressional staff member, a journalist, and a lobbyist. Past work includes the drafting, introduction, and passage of multiple pieces of legislation, testimony before the International Trade Commission and the Office of the United States Trade Representative, and serving as the principal trade advisor to multiple trade associations.
John Schweitzer, SVP, EH&S and Sustainability, ACMA
Industry-wide responsibility for regulatory advocacy and compliance programs including education about pollution prevention tools for emissions reduction. Leads extensive industry-supported development of resources for developing life cycle assessments, Product Category Rules, and Environmental Product Declarations for composite products. 40 years of experience in the composites industry.
Throughout his tenure, John has driven significant progress in regulatory advocacy, ensuring the industry’s alignment with environmental standards. His commitment to sustainability is evident through his leadership in developing life cycle assessments and environmental declarations, positioning composite products at the forefront of eco-friendly innovation.
John’s contributions extend beyond his professional roles; his expertise has been pivotal in educating the industry on pollution prevention tools for emissions reduction. His innovative approaches and dedication have not only fostered compliance with environmental standards but also inspired a collective movement towards sustainability. This extensive background comprises four decades of experience, from R&D to technical direction, culminating in his current position where his efforts continue to shape the future of the composites industry.
