ACMA Has Its Finger on the Pulse of Emerging Opportunities

A partnership of researchers from the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center, the Department of Homeland Security’s Science and Technology Directorate, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the University of Kansas School of Engineering, will work to reinforce American dams and levees using fiber-reinforced polymers and sensors. 

Last month, the ACMA led its own charge to filling the knowledge gap of “Why Composites” as 24 members met with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers at W.P. Franklin Lock & Dam outside of Ft. Myers, Florida. The Corps sought out expertise from our members to build products for navigational waterway locks and dams.
